Q & A
Have a question that you couldn't find an answer to in the information pages? Feel free to ask them here! We'll be doing our best to compile common questions and answers as well as time goes on for quick reference.
Yes, any abilities/powers that the character gained (and left) their previous game with are accepted here. The only caveat would be if there were world-dependent abilities, i.e. abilities that strictly require some kind of magic source that is unique to that world. If it's something that can be handwaved to generic use, then it's fine.
Nope! The idea is that time IS always passing, BUT a passenger's final destination is both a specific place AND specific time. For example, two people could come from the same place (Tokyo) but one is from 1855 and one is from 2055. They'd each be returned to their specific time points, not to any 'current' timepoint. So overall, it's kind of a Doctor Who/time traveler approach.
We will probably work on integrating specific time points into our train announcements to help characters mentally work out this ICly.
Does the station have Internet?
There is technically not internet at the moment. Communication is a closed system that allows for direct messaging (so more of an intranet), but there is no access to websites, servers, etc outside of this system.
Can characters (assuming they have the skills) create additional apps for their phone?
Characters can make apps for their ticket pass, yes! They'll find the language different from any known one, but vaguely familiar in the way programming languages are.
Would the station itself ping as magical to anyone with the ability to sense such things?
It would ping as almost everything at once, but in very low quantities and fleetingly.
What models of trains are at the station?
If you google 'belle epoque train' that will give you the inner and outer aesthetic of the trains that pass through the station! We don't really know the name of the style ourselves... vintage? Tram-esque? Older-looking but well maintained, in any case!
How does room-sharing work? Is it possible to register multiple people to one room? Will only one person have the ability to unlock a room? Also if two people CAN share a room officially, does that mean that they lose their ability to have separate rooms? If A lets B share their room, can B also register another room for themselves elsewhere, or is their registration used up?
Regarding rooms! One person will get registered as primary room owner while other people can be registered as 'guests with access.' This way, a 'guest' can register their own room and their registration is not used up, but they do not have to wait for the owner to let them in.
There is some flexibility in terms of apping, but we will say in general it's 'within reason' when taking the game's general setting into account. We do not have any strict requirement in terms of how long a character was played in another game, but we do ask that they were at least played briefly. The character in question should have been around long enough to develop some sort of sense in being in another place and interacting with other characters to develop a relationship.
Are characters appable if they were played in a PSL set in another game/universe's setting, but were not actually played in a game?
In order to keep things simple we will be sticking with the rules set in the appable characters section and say that all characters must have been played officially in a game.
Can we app a single character from multiple PGAUs? Like, say, if I played a character in multiple different games before apping them to Staytion, could they retain memories of all the games (with some handwaving that they forgot each game before moving onto the next until arriving at Staytion) instead of having to app all three PGAUs separately?
Yes, you can! We're perfectly fine with a single character having been through multiple games prior to arriving at the Staytion.

Addressing the second scenario described, in order to keep things simple we will be sticking with the rules set in the appable characters section and say that all characters must have been played officially in a game.

2. Can characters (assuming they have the skills) create additional apps for their phone?

1. There is technically not internet at the moment. Communication is a closed system that allows for direct messaging (so more of an intranet), but there is no access to websites, servers, etc outside of this system. So sadly, characters will be missing out on their daily check-ins unless they go world hopping.

(I don't actually know that much about trains OOCly but I do play a train otaku and it would be helpful to at least know for sure if they are old-fashioned or modern)

What happens if you share a room? If keys are first come first serve, registered to someone, is it possible for that person to register additional people to the same room? Or do roomies just not have the ability to unlock a room and have to wait for the owner to let them in..........
